Despite all the risks, yesterday I was motivated. I had a few close friends help out to double check the depth, spot the landing area, provide safety and video documentation. When I finally went, it was the most incredibly feeling of flying Ive ever had. (Ever more so then my higher jump from Rainbow Falls on Big Island.) The excitement I had was more then just from doing the jump, but from the feeling of accomplishment and knowing I had the skill to make minor adjustments in the air to successfully complete other dives from this height.
I came away from this with the realization that I have a lot to work on in terms of executing the dive and getting to a level that would be competition worthy, even though it was a huge confidence boost to know I can control dives from this height. Also, I have the best friends in the world, who are willing to back me up and help me prepare for adventures like this.
