There is nothing like the thrill of adventure. Whether it's the feeling of flying while cliff diving, or the calming sensation while submerged in the company of whales, adventure is exciting simply because it is a new and different experience.

To Adventure is to get out and challenge yourself and truly experience each moment. An Adventure isn’t just the final result, it's about the journey. It's about becoming a part of the surroundings and the moment you are living in.

Adventure Athletes are people who actively pursue these moments by pushing their own limits of normal and possible. They seek to interact and react with the environment and obstacles around them, and it's their passion and constant effort to be prepared for the next challenge that sets them apart from recreational enthusiasts.

Being an Adventure Athlete is a lifestyle. It's a desire to explore new places, try new things, and connect with new people. It's living life to the fullest, and sharing those moments with friends. Many of my best friends and favorite memories have come directly from moments where I rose to a challenge outside my comfort zone. As an Adventure Athlete I seek More of these Moments.

"Whats your story?"

My story began in Oregon, where I grew up playing on a trampoline, making home videos with my brothers, and developing a love for exploring in the backyard creek. I was fortunate enough to receive an athletic scholarship to the University of Hawaii, and completed a masters degree working on swimming biomechanics in the Aquatic Research Lab on Oahu. After narrowly missing qualifying for Olympic Trials for swimming in 2008 and 2012, and graduating from the competitive structure of NCAA Division I athletics, I found myself seeking challenges beyond traditional sports.

While my passion for adventure started in the rivers and mountains of the Pacific Northwest where I grew up, it fully developed through my experience of the Hawaiian Islands. In between instructing swimming and coaching triathletes, I began taking videos of cliff diving, hiking, and body surfing. I discovered a drive to not only challenging myself with new adventures, but also a desire to motivate others and help them improve their own athletic skills.

A favorite quote I have is “People will forget who you are and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” My goal as an athlete, coach, and photographer, is to inspire others to push their personal limits of what they thought they could do, and make them feel the same emotion and excitement I experience during the pursuit of adventure.

I hope my blog, portfolios, and work engage you enough to reach out and make a personal connection. If you would like to partner with me and be a part of the pursuit of adventure, collaborate on a shoot, or even just say hi; feel free to send an email, hit me up on Instagram, or message me through the contact page.
